The International Hip Dysplasia Institute recognises the Harmony baby carrier, like all BabyBjörn baby carriers, as a hip-healthy product. This means that the baby carrier provides adequate support for your baby's hips.
The Harmony Baby Carrier offers four carrying positions : newborn baby, facing you, facing out and on your back. You can carry your baby facing out from around five months, as soon as your baby is strong enough to hold his head upright without help. You can carry your baby on your back from the age of 1 year.
You can carry your newborn baby (3.2kg) in the Harmony baby carrier without an additional insert. This baby carrier has two carrying heights, so it can be used from birth up to the age of three years. All it takes is a few simple adjustments to change the position. Remember to reduce the size of the openings with the leg straps if your baby weighs between 3.2 and 4.5kg.

The Harmony Baby Carrier is physiologically designed to support baby's whole body, with legs in the "frog" position and bottom tucked into the bottom of the carrier. As your baby grows, you can easily adjust the length, leg position and seat for optimum comfort.
Until your baby is able to hold their head up unaided, it's essential that your baby carrier has an excellent head support to keep his head upright. Offering three positions, the headrest of the Harmony Baby Carrier is easily adjusted thanks to a system of press studs. Choose a position that supports baby's head and neck while allowing you to monitor baby's breathing.
The Harmony baby carrier has been designed to provide maximum comfort for the wearer! When carrying your little one, position the pressure-reducing belt around your waist. When baby is older, position it around your hips to distribute the weight more evenly. Padded straps spread the weight over the shoulders and back to ensure comfort during extended periods of carrying. The baby carrier also has a lumbar support to relieve strain on the lower back.
To ensure maximum comfort for your baby, we have chosen to use a soft fabric (100% polyester) for the lining and a smooth, velvety 3D jersey (80% polyester, 16% cotton, 4% elastane) for the head support. The shoulder pads and back support are padded (polyester and PU foam) for superior comfort, even when worn for long periods.
