Together latex mattress and bed bases
6There's nothing more pleasant than a good night's sleep. Yet 1 in 2 French people complain of backache, short nights or poor quality sleep. What if, to alleviate this problem, all you had to do was think about replacing your bedding? Rediscover the comfort of nights like no other with a latex mattress and box spring set.
Why choose a latex mattress?
While there are many different types of mattress, from pocket springs to memory foam, the latex mattress offers numerous advantages in terms of comfort, hygiene and well-being.
How is a latex mattress made?
Latex mattresses are, as the name suggests, made from latex. There are 100% vegetable latex mattresses, generally made from over 97% rubber milk, and synthetic latex mattresses. The latter are on average less expensive than 100% vegetable latex.
The support you need
Whether 100% characteristic or not, latex is a highly resilient and firm material that offers good support to all areas of the sleeper's body, especially the back. Thanks to its firmness and resilience, a latex mattress benefits from advanced technology, providing up to 7 support zones and significantly reducing back pain. What's more, latex absorbs shocks. So you and your co-sleeper benefit from totally independent sleeping.
A mattress for your well-being
Latex is a highly breathable material. It's ideal for people who sweat a lot in bed at night. Thanks to its material, the mattress is able to regulate its temperature, offering warmth and comfort in winter and coolness in summer. Latex is highly recommended for people suffering from allergies to dust mites, fungi and mold. A 100% latex mattress is hypoallergenic, anti-mite and bactericidal.
Which base to choose for a latex mattress?
For a perfect night's sleep, it's important to put your latex mattress on a suitable base.
The active or passive slatted bed base
The active slat base is the most recommended base for this type of mattress. Latex mattresses are elastic and resistant. An active slatted base, i.e. one in which the slats are set into end caps, offers greater mobility and elasticity to maintain the comfort of your mattress. However, make sure that the slats are spaced at least 5 cm apart. This spacing allows better air circulation and lets the mattress breathe.
For greater firmness, especially if you're prone to back pain, a passive slatted base (stapled directly into the base) may be an option.
The box spring
The box spring is a slatted bed base, with active or passive slats, covered with upholstery fabric. It is also ideal for latex mattresses. Highly aesthetic and decorative, it can bring a touch of charm and refinement to the bedroom.
