Crawley Chest of 5 Drawers, untreated light wood, SO'HOME

Ordered 2 x the plain wood style as we wanted to stain them.

We are well used to a bit of DIY and ikea furniture, so expected this to be of the same ilk. The fixings for the joints do not hold (they don’t “lock” in place), so with the slightest movement, they loosen and fall apart. The drawers especially are hopeless. Have spoken to customer service who suggested we should find new fixings and they will refund the fixing cost. This doesn’t cover massive amount of time wasted trying to build and have been to Homebase and B&Q already with no luck. A massive waste of our time - of which we have little to spare at the moment.

So, advice would be - be prepared for an excessive amount of time to build and also time to buy other fixings if you want these drawers to work….

Please with the chest of drawers but it was a long process to assemble as the instructions are not very precise. Also, we discovered that there are some slight damages on the wood and it shows on white paint.

Bought this unit because I have a small bedroom & it fits perfectly. Assembly was easy. Delivery was quick.

Thus is a very nice cabinet and is perfect for what I was looking for. My only criticism is the instructions are not very clear and were not necessarily 100% correct. Also the paint finish was not as good as it could have been and marks very easily. So, looks great, does the job, but for the price, I'd expect a far better finish to the paint.

I bought this based on the description. The word 'solid' enticed me to choose this when furnishing our holiday home. When it finally arrived - it took a long time, i realised that there was too much fibre board - and it was too flimsy to warrant the price i paid, even with the discount. I have noticed it has been reduced since i returned it. Don't buy.
