All about:

After breast-feeding, it's time to choose a bottle nipple

Flexible rubber pacifier or rigid silicone teat, the choice is yours. More fragile than a plastic bottle, the glass bottle is Bisphenol A-free: a guarantee of safety for baby's diet. For maximum hygiene and a good meal for baby, bottle brushes and sterilizers are a must. And for budding gourmets, a food processor can be used to prepare delicious baby porridges and baby food.

A gentle start to food diversification

From the age of 4 to 6 months, depending on your pediatrician's recommendations, your baby can try his first foods other than milk. This is a key stage: food diversification. This does not mean the end of breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, but the gradual introduction of new solid or semi-solid foods to complement breast or infant milk. Each child evolves at his or her own pace. The aim is not to immediately replace breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, but to introduce your baby to new tastes and textures. Start with very smooth purées based on steamed vegetables such as carrots, zucchini or pumpkin. Only one vegetable at a time, to better identify what your baby likes... and to detect any possible reactions. Around six months, you can introduce fruit compote: apple, pear, then gradually banana or peach. Always cooked, with no added sugar. And yes, it's best to avoid cookies or preparations that are too salty or sweet at this stage: your baby is discovering the natural tastes of food without artificial additives. The meal gradually becomes a moment of sharing, discovery and pleasure. What's important? Set up a simple, calm ritual. A stable high chair, a spoon adapted to small mouths, and a relaxed attitude. You can also use a practical, easy-to-clean bib, to gently accustom your baby to a degree of autonomy, while keeping your home spotless.

Breastfeeding: how to adapt mealtimes during the first months

If you're continuing to breastfeed, remember that breast milk remains your baby's main food for up to 6 months. Breast milk covers most of his nutritional needs. It's also a reassuring reference point as he opens up to other tastes. Diversification enriches this base, without immediately replacing it. That said, some breastfed babies are genuinely enthusiastic about the spoon. Others, more cautious, need several days, even weeks, to accept a new taste or texture. Here's some simple advice: respect your baby's rhythm. There's no need to force it. A small spoonful one day, nothing the next, then three small bites the day after... everything is normal. The most important thing is observation. Your baby's face is expressive: if he grimaces, turns his head away, pushes the spoon away, perhaps he doesn't want to or simply doesn't like the food. Try again a few days later. Some foods require several tries before they are accepted. And if you pump your own milk, you should know that it can accompany the first purées. For example, to lengthen a homemade compote or soften a slightly thick purée, a spoonful of breast milk can make the mixture more fluid and familiar to your baby. It's a simple trick to incorporate into your daily routine.

What products and accessories should I choose for a worry-free mealtime?

As mealtimes take their place in the day, it's a good idea to equip yourself with age-appropriate products. A blender-cooker simplifies meal preparation: steam vegetables, blend finely and serve immediately. This saves you time and gives you control over your baby's diet, without complicating your daily routine. To store homemade baby food, airtight containers are essential. Choose models adapted to small portions: 120 to 150 ml are ideal for beginners. You can also label preparations with the date and the proposed food, to ensure clear, error-free organization. At mealtime, opt for unbreakable baby crockery with a simple yet functional design: non-slip plates, ergonomic spoons, training cups. These accessories encourage independence, as soon as your child begins to want to put food in his mouth alone. Don't forget the floor mat or the easy-to-clean placemat: first meals are sensory experiences, sometimes messy but always instructive. They are also precious opportunities for support and complicity. Finally, bear in mind that babies' diets evolve rapidly. From 7 or 8 months, textures change, chunks appear and meals become more varied. Gradually introducing well-cooked lean meats, boneless fish and hard-boiled eggs helps meet the increased need for iron and vitamin B12. Your role? Suggest, support and encourage. Our role? To offer you reliable, tested products designed for regular, everyday use. Because every meal is an important step in your child's growth, health and development. You move forward hand in hand, with confidence.
